It wasn't the first time he'd lied to Guerin, either by omission or an actual bald-faced lie, and it wouldn't be the last. He was out by noon and already had a plan. The owner of the toy store was more than a little confused about why Alex was buying a dozen water pistols of varying types, but he just made the 'it's for a nephew' excuse and walked out.
It would be good to spend some time with Guerin. Not talking about any of the secrets that were between them or their past, but just being together and having fun. He could remember the last time they'd just been together and it involved a guitar and an almost-kiss.
By four o'clock, the guns were planted and he was dressed in board shorts. The prosthetic was rather glaring, but Alex didn't really care. Eventually, when he got into the water, he'd take it off, but before that, he had a war to start.
