I'm just trying to figure out this nonsense. It was easier to assume that all that had happened with, like, Damon was that they erased his memories. It's not like he ages. It just makes me think that if you come back and don't remember, there's some kind of default reset point.

If we're all clones, as some had suggested, it might be that as well.

Sadly I don't think we have enough information to know. We don't even know if it's cloning or bringing in people from new timelines.
Someone talked about one where there is constant splitting with any major decision so it would make for a lot of possible selves to bring here.

Every time I come up with a theory I think makes some kind of sense, something comes along that completely blows it out of the water.

Oh god. Infinite parallel realities? Maybe. But that doesn't take into account our comas. Or how we even survive them without food or water.

I don't know if it blows some out of the water. Such as cloning or multiple timelines.

I think it's more noticeable than if it were say even you and I, or when Eliot came back, but I think it's pretty much the same. Maybe.

It's why, honestly, I lean towards cloning and why I embrace this as my life here.

Maybe, but even with the clones thing, there's still the comas. And that just doesn't make sense to me. Or where they get the memories we receive from the coma in the first place. I suppose it can always be explained by the biggest deus ex machina in the fantasy genre.

The comas could be stories. We just have the memories to trust, we don't know if they're real or not.

[ Which is a possibility about their lives as well. Nothing may be real. ]

Maybe. But on the other hand, if a tree falls alone in a forest, does it make a sound? If we remember it happening, if we live our lives as if it did, does it matter whether it happened or not?
